About The Housebuilding Summit

Welcome to the IHBA’s 2024 Housebuilding Summit.

Building tomorrow’s housing amid a shifting policy landscape, cost, labour and planning pressures, trends in MMC, new and evolving technologies and building sustainably are the key challenges Irish homebuilders are facing as we head into the mid-2020s. But, like other industries, construction has seen a number of innovations over recent years, with new methods continually being developed, improved and adapted to meet the challenges in terms of sustainability and efficiency.

Going into its third year, the IHBA’s annual summit explores these key challenges offering insights and solutions to advance best practices in residential development. Where innovation and pragmatic solutions meet, our event offers collaboration, best practice learning and the conversations needed to achieve as an industry.

You’ll hear insightful presentations and discussions exploring the latest policies for new home building, housing concepts, innovation and solutions. Plus, you’ll meet a wide range of companies representing the latest products, services and technologies to raise your understanding and develop your business.

This is a must-attend event for homebuilders, developers, local authorities, housing associations, key partners and suppliers. So, mark the date and bring your teams to keep abreast of industry trends, engage with quality content and speakers, network and meet fellow industry professionals who understand the challenges ahead.

Topics will include:

  • Policy and market update
  • Planning for the future: The review of the National Planning Framework
  • Let’s talk about land: How can government actively manage land to scale up the delivery of new housing?
  • The way forward: A new manifesto for affordable housing in Europe
  • The rise of MMC: How to upgrade your current construction practices
  • Government’s role in promoting MMC, how MMC is helping to achieve net zero targets on projects, viability and financial incentives for innovating
  • Housing and sustainability
  • Trends in construction costs and viability
  • The Ultimate Housing Debate:  Can we get housing right? We bring together leading industry experts and commentators to give us their solutions to solving the housing crisis…
